Soul Kitchen and Reversed Inspirations

It is quite possible that I may be making too much of this, but today at the bookstore where I am working I saw a flyer from a local (very modernist, as J. Gresham might call them) church that was promoting their "Soul Kitchen: Inspired by Jon Bon Jovi's Movement." Maybe I don't understand the mechanics of this movement, but let me ask a simple question: Have we forgotten the movement (the Kingdom of Heaven) whereby we feed those in need through the inspiration of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit? Has the Church so ritualized the Scriptures (i.e. simply as a means of liturgy and topical sermons) that we now need a secular recording artist to inspire us? Is it possible that we have quenched the real inspiration of the Holy Spirit?
