Welcome to what will become a regular devotional posting from things that the Lord opens up to my heart. I love to share my findings in God's Word. I have called these devotions "Wondrous Things" inspired by Psalm 119:18.
This morning the Lord spoke to me about the deity of Christ Jesus. Notice what the Word claims of Jesus' nature:
"And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb" (Rev. 21:23).
Compare that with the following:
"And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light..." (Rev. 22:5)
If God is their light, and the lamp is the Lamb of God (Jesus), then who/what does that make Jesus? Clearly these two verses are speaking about two of the members of the Trinity. Certainly these two verses are claiming the deity of Jesus Christ. He is God, and His light will be brighter and more glorious than any and every sun in the universe!
This matters because there are still Arian groups among us who deny the deity of Jesus, but O, how deep are the Scriptures! Truly wondrous things can be found in the Word of God!
Today, take time to meditate on the truth of Revelation 21:23 and 22:5. Allow this truth to bring you into worship of Jesus, the Son of God in the Holy Trinity!
What is God speaking to you about His Son today?
